Our Northwest Calgary Siding Services & Materials
We handle quality siding installation in Northwest Calgary, but we specialize in everything from repairs to partial renovations, too.
- James Hardie Siding: As one of Northwest Calgary’s most popular exterior cladding options, fiber cement siding deals with the hail, snow, and wind you’ve come to expect in a single winter like a pro. The excellent balance between affordability and longevity doesn’t hurt, either.
- Vinyl Siding: We always mention versatility and vinyl siding in the same sentence. It works for most budgets and on most buildings. Vinyl is suitable whether you have an older Northwest Calgary home in neighbourhoods like Varsity or a modern apartment building in Sage Hill.
- Metal/Steel Siding: We all know that Northwest Calgary weather can be really hard on a home’s exterior. But the robust nature of metal siding means it’s always up for the challenge. By simply varying the installation technique, we can achieve a modern or more traditional look.
- Cedar Siding: Cedar adds instant personality to any Northwest Calgary siding design. It’s hard to pass up the warm tones and natural look that complement heritage-inspired renovations and soften more modern designs.
- Longboard Siding: Get the sophisticated appearance of wood without staining, painting, or ongoing wood maintenance. Longboard’s architectural aluminum is ideal for creating contemporary accents and modern Northwest Calgary exteriors.
- LUX Siding: LUX is just that. It’s steel siding with a twist that mimics the appearance of natural materials. Choose this for truly distinctive Northwest Calgary home designs.
- EasyTrim Siding: Perfect corners, transitions, and architectural details are the cornerstones of EasyTrim. The clean lines skew perfectly modern and polished.
- Engineered Wood Siding: Worried about the durability and maintenance of real wood siding? Engineered is the answer. The enhanced durability and consistency are great for Northwest Calgary homeowners, whether you’re in Hamptons or adding a wood-inspired finish to a Nolan Hill home.
- Aluminum Siding: Lightweight, rust-resistant, and easy to maintain, aluminum provides reliable exterior protection without demanding much attention. It’s a practical option for both renovations and new siding projects in Northwest Calgary.
- AL13 Siding: Give your property a bold, contemporary exterior with AL13’s aluminum panel system. The siding’s modern profile with concealed fasteners and durable finish is a dream for modern Northwest Calgary architecture and somewhat unfriendly weather conditions.
- Siding repair: We’re here to help when rogue hailstones, flying branches, or strong winds inevitably wreak havoc on your existing siding in Calgary. We repair cracked, loose, dented, and weather-damaged siding across Northwest Calgary to restore your home’s all-important protective shell.
- Siding renovation: A siding renovation can trade faded colours, tired profiles, and dated details for sharper lines, fresh textures, and a completely different personality. Give your Northwest Calgary home a new face in record time.
How Your Siding Project Works
As a professional siding company in Northwest Calgary in business for over 20 years, we’ve developed a foolproof process we apply to all our siding installations.
Consultation & Quotation
First, we gather information: your needs, your design preferences, the site’s challenges. Then, we suggest the right siding material and installation technique, and put it all into an easy-to-understand estimate.
Remove Old Siding & Site Prep
Depending on the existing situation, we remove the old house siding (sometimes it can be left in place) and check the installation surface for any needed repairs. Next, we apply a weather barrier and insulation, which is useful in Northwest Calgary under everything from vinyl to Hardie board siding.
Installation
Once the groundwork is complete, we proceed with exterior siding installation, which typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the project size.
Cleanup, Inspection & Handover
We leave no trace that our expert team was on-site other than the drastic improvement to your home’s curb appeal. We complete a final inspection to ensure everything is just as it should be, and discuss how to properly care for your new siding so that it lasts as it should.
Siding Installation or Repair in Northwest Calgary: Materials, Costs & Timeline
Which Siding Is Right for Your Northwest Calgary Home?
Because it’s not just about looks, to find the right siding, you need to consider everything from your budget to your style preferences to how much maintenance you’re willing to do:
| Material |
Budget Range |
Best Suited To |
Best For |
Considerations |
| Vinyl Siding |
$5-8/sq. ft. |
Starter homes in neighbourhoods like Citadel, smaller bungalows in Montgomery, and townhomes in Ranchlands |
Keeping your siding installation costs down while giving an older exterior a real facelift |
More vulnerable to impact damage than heavier-duty materials and may not provide the premium appearance wanted for higher-end renovations. |
| Fiber Cement / James Hardie Siding |
$9.50-13/sq. ft. |
Almost any property in Northwest Calgary, including style-forward bungalow renos in Brentwood, both small and large established homes in Varsity, and high-impact upgrades to family homes in Silver Springs or Bowness |
Either traditional or contemporary vibes and excellent longevity |
Costs more than vinyl and is relatively heavy, making correct installation particularly important. |
| Cedar Siding |
$10-16/sq. ft. |
Character homes in Bowness, nature-oriented properties in Silver Springs, and rustic-inspired homes in Scenic Acres |
Adding character alongside natural warmth and texture |
More maintenance when compared to metal or fiber cement siding, even though they have a similar price point. |
| Engineered Wood Siding |
$9-15/sq. ft. |
Mid-century or bungalow updates in Brentwood and Charleswood, larger family homes in Edgemont, and traditional homes in Scenic Acres |
The appearance of cedar or other wood grains minus the maintenance requirement |
More expensive than basic vinyl; not completely immune to repainting/refinishing down the line. |
| Steel / Metal Siding |
$10.50-15/sq. ft. |
Contemporary and durable siding upgrades in Royal Oak or modern farmhouse design in Tuscany |
Weather and impact resistance with minimal upkeep |
Higher upfront cost than vinyl. May skew too modern for more traditional-looking homes. |
| LUX Panel Siding |
$15.50-27/sq. ft. |
Contemporary new builds in Rockland Park, modern townhomes and condos in University District, luxury exterior renovations in Rocky Ridge, and architectural feature applications in Tuscany |
Premium architectural exteriors and mixed-material façades |
One of the most expensive siding choices, and its distinctly contemporary appearance won’t suit every home. |

Siding Installation & Repair Across Northwest Calgary Neighbourhoods
- Vinyl Siding Replacement in Arbour Lake: A lot of Arbour Lake homes were built in the early 90s, and the original vinyl is really starting to show its age now. Faded south walls, brittle panels that crack when the temperature drops, that kind of thing. Vinyl siding replacement is usually the most budget-friendly fix, although some homeowners use it as an excuse to finally upgrade to fiber cement.
- Cedar Siding in Bowness: Bowness has more character homes than most Northwest Calgary communities, plus new infills going up right next door to them. Cedar siding works on both. On the older cottages and bungalows it brings back the warm, natural look they were built with, and on a modern infill it softens all that glass and dark metal.
- James Hardie Siding in Brentwood: Brentwood’s 1960s bungalows are some of our favourite homes to work on in the northwest. Replacing cracked stucco or tired wood with James Hardie siding keeps the low mid-century profile but adds real protection against hail and our freeze-thaw cycles. A horizontal lap board in a darker colour looks especially sharp on these houses.
- Siding Repair in Citadel: Hail has a way of finding Citadel, and the builder-grade vinyl on many homes here isn’t exactly built for it. We do siding repair for cracked, holed and loose panels, but we’ll be upfront if replacing a full wall makes more sense. Old vinyl fades, so a perfect colour match isn’t always possible, and a patchwork exterior isn’t a good look on anyone’s home.
- Siding Renovation in Dalhousie: Plenty of Dalhousie split-levels still have their original aluminum siding from the 60s or 70s, dents included. Fiber cement or metal siding on the upper level, new trim, and the brick left alone where it’s still in good shape can make a 50 year old house look like it was renovated last year. It’s one of the more satisfying jobs we do.
- Engineered Wood Siding in Edgemont: Edgemont is known for big family homes on sloped lots, and once you count the walkout, some of those back walls are three storeys high. Engineered wood siding is popular here because it gives a large exterior the look of real wood, without the endless staining real wood would need on a house that size.
- AL13 Siding in Hamptons: Homeowners in Hamptons usually want an exterior that fits the upscale feel of the neighbourhood (and the golf course views). AL13 aluminum panels with concealed fasteners make for clean, contemporary feature walls and entryways, and they pair well with stone or fiber cement on the rest of the house.
- Siding Replacement in Hawkwood: Many Hawkwood homes date back to the 1980s, and new owners often find out the original siding has been hiding problems for years. When we do a siding replacement here we check the sheathing and weather barrier underneath before anything new goes up. Fixing moisture damage now is a lot cheaper than finding it in five years.
- Vinyl Siding in Montgomery: Montgomery is a mix of small postwar bungalows and newer infills. For the bungalows, vinyl siding checks most of the boxes: it’s affordable, needs very little maintenance and makes a modest home look clean and cared for. Infill owners tend to go with metal or panel systems for a more modern style, and we install both.
- Townhome Siding Installation in Ranchlands: Ranchlands has lots of townhome complexes from the 70s and 80s, so a good share of our siding installation work here is for condo boards. We plan these projects building by building so residents aren’t living behind scaffolding all summer. Vinyl and Hardie board are the usual picks because they keep long-term maintenance costs predictable for the reserve fund.
- Steel Siding in Rocky Ridge: Sitting right on the western edge of the city, Rocky Ridge takes a beating from wind and hail coming off the foothills. Steel siding holds up to both a lot better than the builder vinyl many homes here started with. We also tighten up the fastening and use heavier profiles on west-facing walls, since that’s where the weather does most of its damage.
- Metal Siding in Royal Oak: Most Royal Oak homes are about 20 years old and still wearing the vinyl they were built with. Switching to metal siding gives you a tougher exterior and makes your house stand out from the rest of the street. Board and batten or vertical panels on the gables add a modern farmhouse touch that’s become pretty popular around here.
- Longboard Siding in Scenic Acres: Mature trees and Bow Valley views make Scenic Acres a natural fit for wood-look exteriors. Longboard siding gives you that warm wood grain on soffits, accent walls or the whole house, with none of the staining or sealing real cedar asks for. For a lot of homeowners here, that’s the deciding factor.
- Fiber Cement Siding in Silver Springs: Big trees and lots backing onto Bowmont Park are a huge plus in Silver Springs, but shaded north walls often deal with moss and moisture. Fiber cement siding handles damp conditions much better than wood, and installed over a proper rainscreen, it lets the wall dry out so the same problem doesn’t come back every spring.
- LUX Siding in Tuscany: Tuscany homes often combine stucco with vinyl, and after a few hailstorms both can look a bit rough. Some homeowners replace everything. Others add LUX panel siding to the front elevation or around the entry for a striking architectural feature, which is a smart way to modernize a Tuscany home without starting from scratch.
- Aluminum Siding in University Heights: Being so close to the university and Foothills hospital, University Heights has plenty of rental properties. Aluminum siding is a practical pick for landlords since it’s lightweight, rust-resistant and won’t need repainting every few years. We can also schedule the work between tenants so nobody’s lease gets disrupted.
- EasyTrim Siding in Varsity: People renovating 60s and 70s homes in Varsity often want a cleaner, more modern exterior without changing the original shape of the house. Pairing Hardie board with EasyTrim corners and transitions gives you crisp lines around windows and edges. It’s those small details that make a siding renovation actually look finished.
