The Tested Siding Materials We Use
James Hardie Siding
Perhaps the ultimate blend of budget, aesthetics, and durability, James Hardie fiber cement siding suits the Calgary conditions to a T. The material mix of Portland cement, sand, cellulose fibers, and water provides the strength needed to stand up to Chinook and other winds, heavy snow, hail, and flying debris.
Vinyl Siding
Great for budget-friendly siding renovation in Northeast Calgary, vinyl siding is a top choice for a range of projects. It’s ideal for affordable siding replacement on rental properties in Pineridge or Penbrooke Meadows, completely refreshing an older bungalow in Marlborough, or upgrading a starter home in Abbeydale.
Metal/Steel Siding
Modern meets sturdy with metal siding in Northeast Calgary. Sleek lines add a contemporary touch to new builds in Saddle Ridge or farmhouse-style homes in Cornerstone Park. But metal siding may be more versatile than you think: installed horizontally and rib or deep groove designs can lend a traditional feel to this streamlined, maintenance-free material.
Cedar Siding
Warm, natural tones and real texture define cedar siding, so it’s fantastic on its own or mixed with materials like metal siding to transform your property’s exterior. It requires a little more maintenance than synthetic versions, but the authentic look you’ll achieve is worth it.
Engineered Wood Siding
Engineered wood siding in Northeast Calgary provides the coveted look of wood without the maintenance requirements of the real thing. Made with renewable wood fibers, you get the interesting texture, but it’s manufactured not to warp or split.
Longboard Siding
Longboard siding is as durable as it is beautiful. The aluminum-based profiles come in woods and metallics that last 50+ years. Longboard requires no maintenance, has integrated thermal breaks to increase energy efficiency, and its installation is always totally customizable.
LUX Panel Siding
When you have a little more money to spend, the “luxury” of LUX panel siding is worthy of the budget increase. The steel finishes seamlessly mimic natural materials like wood and bold, metallic profiles like brushed steel. Its versatility means it’s a solid choice for mixed-material facades in neighbourhoods like Skyview Ranch or Cornerstone, too.
EasyTrim Siding
Elegant and flexible is how we’d describe EasyTrim Quick Panel System siding. The panels install quickly, the siding installation method can be tailored to the demands of the Northeast Calgary climate, and it offers a sleek style for both homes and commercial properties.
Aluminum Siding
Although it’s robust and easy to maintain, aluminum siding is lightweight, so it’s ideal if you’re trying to limit the load on your home’s structure. And aluminum siding has evolved over the years to withstand the elements effortlessly with UV-tested fade resistance.
AL-13 Siding
AL-13 siding resists wear from the elements, maintains its colour perfectly, and is nice and lightweight. It’s everything you’d expect from aluminum cladding. Metallic and bold colour finishes skew modern, whereas the many wood-look options instantly add the warmth of traditional cedar siding.

Siding Installation & Repair Across Northeast Calgary Neighbourhoods
Every Northeast Calgary community has its own mix of house styles, ages, and weather challenges. Here’s how we approach siding in the neighbourhoods we work in most.
Vinyl Siding Replacement in Abbeydale: Abbeydale is full of starter homes from the early 80s, and a lot of them are still wearing their first or second round of vinyl. By now it’s usually faded, a bit wavy on the sunny side, and cracked wherever the kids’ hockey net used to sit. Vinyl siding replacement keeps the budget reasonable, and a new colour helps the house stand apart from every other one on the crescent.
Siding Replacement in Castleridge: Many Castleridge homes are bi-levels and split-levels built in the late 70s and early 80s, and the original siding has been through a lot of Calgary winters since then. Before a full siding replacement, we pull a few panels to see what the sheathing looks like underneath. More often than you’d think, there’s some old moisture damage around the windows that’s worth fixing while the wall is open.
LUX Siding in Coral Springs: Coral Springs is one of the nicer lake communities in the northeast, and the bigger homes here suit a more upscale exterior. LUX panel siding gives you a wood or brushed metal look with steel underneath, so it handles hail far better than the vinyl most of these houses started with. It also works well as a feature on the front elevation if you’d rather not redo the whole house.
Vinyl Siding in Falconridge: There are a lot of duplexes and smaller detached homes in Falconridge, and vinyl siding is still the go-to here for good reason. It’s affordable and easy to repair later. With duplexes, we’re happy to work with both owners so the two halves match, because one side in fresh vinyl and the other in 30 year old siding is a look nobody wants.
James Hardie Siding in Martindale: Martindale got hit hard in the June 2020 hailstorm, and plenty of homeowners here replaced their siding through insurance afterward. The ones who went with James Hardie siding usually don’t regret it. Fiber cement takes hail a lot better than vinyl, and on the two-storey homes common in Martindale, it gives the whole exterior a more solid, finished look.
Aluminum Siding in Mayland Heights: Mayland Heights has some of the oldest homes in the northeast, mostly 1950s and 60s bungalows, many with great views of downtown from the top of the hill. Aluminum siding is a good fit for these renovations because it’s light, won’t rust, and doesn’t need repainting. It also keeps the clean, simple look these mid-century houses were built with.
Engineered Wood Siding in Monterey Park: Monterey Park is mostly two-storey family homes from the 90s and 2000s, and a lot of owners here want something warmer than plain vinyl when it’s time to re-side. Engineered wood siding gives you the look of real lap boards or shakes, but it’s treated to resist moisture and won’t split the way natural wood can. It pairs nicely with stone around the garage, too.
Affordable Siding Renovation in Pineridge: Pineridge has plenty of older bungalows and rental properties, so most siding projects here come down to getting the most value for the money. A vinyl siding renovation with new soffit, fascia and window trim can completely change how a 70s house looks from the street. For landlords, it’s also one of the easier ways to cut down on maintenance calls.
Longboard Siding in Redstone: Redstone homes are newer, and a lot of homeowners here are already thinking about how to make their place look less builder-standard. Longboard siding is a popular way to do that. The aluminum wood-grain boards look great on porch ceilings, garage fronts and accent walls, and they never need staining. You notice the upgrade right away, without redoing the whole house.
Fiber Cement Siding in Rundle: Rundle’s 70s bungalows are a great base for a renovation, and fiber cement siding is usually where we start the conversation. Hardie board is fire- and rot-resistant, holds paint for years, and gives these homes a much sharper look than the original siding. On a lot of Rundle bungalows, a darker body colour with white trim makes the house almost unrecognizable.
Hail Damage Siding Repair in Saddle Ridge: Saddle Ridge was right in the path of the 2020 hailstorm, and some homes here still have dented or holed siding that was never fully dealt with. We do siding repair for single panels and full walls, and we can help you figure out whether insurance should be covering it. If the damage is widespread, metal siding is worth a look given how often hail rolls through this part of the city.
AL13 Siding in Skyview Ranch: Skyview Ranch is one of the newer communities in the northeast, with lots of modern townhomes and detached houses. AL13 aluminum panels suit that style well. The concealed fasteners and flat panel profile give a clean, almost commercial look, and we often see them on entries, feature walls, or whole townhome blocks where the board wants a more contemporary exterior.
Steel Siding in Taradale: Taradale homes are mostly 2000s builds, and many still have the vinyl siding they came with, minus a few panels the wind took. Steel siding is a solid upgrade here. It stands up to hail and strong winds, doesn’t fade the way older vinyl does, and needs almost no upkeep. Horizontal profiles keep it looking traditional if you’re not after an ultra-modern style.
Siding Renovation in Temple: Temple’s bungalows and two-storeys from the 70s and 80s are at the age where the siding looks tired even if nothing is technically broken. A siding renovation doesn’t always mean replacing every wall. Sometimes it’s new siding on the front, fresh trim and updated colours, and that’s often enough to make a Temple home look years newer for a fraction of the cost.
Cedar Siding in Vista Heights: Vista Heights is a small, quiet community of mid-century bungalows, and some homeowners here are going for a warmer, more natural exterior. Cedar siding brings real wood texture and character that suits these older homes. It does need staining every few years, so we often recommend it as an accent around the entry or gables, with low-maintenance siding everywhere else.
EasyTrim Siding in Whitehorn: Whitehorn is full of established family homes from the late 70s and 80s, and many of the fiber cement renovations we do here include EasyTrim. The aluminum trim system gives crisp, clean corners and transitions that hold up better than painted wood trim. It’s a small detail, but it’s what makes a Whitehorn siding renovation look professionally finished up close.
